Doggy Derby Day

Fun way to celebrate the Kentucky Derby right here in Mesquite.

Doggy Derby Day at the Opal Lawrence Historical Park is back this spring! Bring your pups to the park for a day of fun and frolics! Enjoy our 13+ acre park with your pet. All dogs must show proof of vaccination and always be on a leash.
This Kentucky Derby themed day of fun includes a doggy hat decorating station and best hat contest for dogs, a best trick contest, and (non-alcoholic) mint juleps for humans. Enjoy walking paths and trails and taking photos in the bluebonnets or in front of our big red barn.

Mesquite Animal Services offers pet adoptions and onsite microchipping for only $10!
A variety of pet service vendors will also be on site.
