For more than 65 years, Mesquite has been serving up wholesome family fun and heart-pounding rodeo action that includes bronc riding, bull riding, barrel racing, team roping and so much more!

Guess what? We’re not just any rodeo. In 1993, the Texas State Legislature crowned Mesquite as the Official Rodeo Capital of Texas! Throughout our history, Mesquite hosted more rodeo events than any other city in the Lone Star State, even outdoing Fort Worth! Today, the Mesquite Championship Rodeo is held every Saturday from June through August.

In Mesquite, the rodeo is all about family fun. Sign your kiddo up for the fan-favorite Mutton Bustin’ event. Watch as they climb onto a wild, wooly sheep and hang on for the ride of their life. It’s an unforgettable experience they’ll remember for years.
